Colour of my life.

Hello! Shari here with a card for the new Penguin Palace challenge, not to mention very late…

Before I started anything I stamped and coloured the boy/girl(?) image from the stamp set. I tried to use colours similar to those for the challenge, and I think I did okay. I added some white gel pen highlights and some accents with a glitter pen. I die cut the image, and my die cutting skills are horrid and I do not know why. Moving on, I dry embossed a panel with a laser-like embossing folder. Then, using three colours that I coloured my image with, I filled in two lasers with each colour. It gives a nice artsy feel to the card, which matches the look I was going for.

Using a yellow ink pad, I swiped it on a 1/2 inch piece of paper and stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set using a deep purple. I then stuck it near the bottom on the far right with foam tape, and stuck the image on top also using foam tape. I considered adding bling of some sort, but decided to leave it as is.

Soft Poinsettias

Hello and welcome to the blog. Shari here sharing a very pastel flower card.

On pieces of cardstock, I ink smooshed with a variety of pink/red, green and yellow inks. I cut the poinsettias out of the pink, leaves from the green and the flower centres from yellow. I adhered two centres together, then adhered the two flower parts together. I stuck the centres to the middle of the flowers and the stuck the leaves behind the flowers. Before I stuck them to the background, I die cut a panel die from white and stuck it to my original card base for a clean look. I stuck my flowers down, only putting glue in the middle so I could fluff up the petals and leaves. I added some Nuvo drops the flower centres and some dots around the card and my card is done!

See You Soon

Hello and welcome! Today I’m making a card using an embossing folder fro the very first time.

On a piece of cardstock I used a 3D embossing folder with flowers and leaves on it and ran it through the die cutting machine. I then used green, yellow and pink inks to apply colour onto the raised areas using cotton balls and blending brushes. I used gold paint to colour the centres of the flowers and splattered the background as well. I stamped a sentiment from a MFT stamp and cut around it. I adhered it to the background flat and used gold sparkly washi tape to cut out 3 hearts and stuck them to the card too. I rounded the corners and my card is done!

Hello

Hi and welcome to the blog. Shari here with a colourful shaped card.

For this card I stamped a mandala-type rubber stamp from MFT onto watercolour paper in embossing ink and white heat embossed it. I then chose several shades of green, blue and purple watercolours and painted the spaces. Green in the middle, blue in the centre and purple around the outside. I didn’t care if I went over the embossed parts because I could wipe it off after I finished. I added shimmer in some parts (thought the picture didn’t pick it up) and moved on to the sentiment. This sentiment is from a Neat and Tangled set and I stamped it on a piece of watercolour paper I painted with a blue shade. I white heat embossed it and bubble cut around it. I stuck it to the centre of my card and cut around the edge of the design. I stuck the top to another piece of paper and cut around that too so it matched up, and my card is done!

I Hope Your Birthday Is a Splash

Hello welcome to the blog! Shari here sharing a fun watercolour birthday card!

I started by stamping and colouring my images from the MFT Sunshine and Friendship stamp set with watercolours. I added some shimmer with a glitter pen and fussy cut them. On a piece of watercolour paper i took various blue shades and went to town. I ink smooshed a bit with the darker colours and added some splatters when it was dry. I ran the panel through a die cutting machine to flatten it since it warped a ton. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with black ink straight onto the panel. I popped up my images with foam tape before adhering them onto the panel. To finish off my card I added some translucent sequins in a diagonal line on my card and it’s done!

I love you

Hi and welcome back! I’m here for another card for the SSS Kids Vacation Challenge card along with the MFT Camp Create 2021.

On a white card panel I die cut the shadow layer of a I Love You word die. I stuck a piece of acetate behind it with double sided tape. I added a double layer of foam tape around the words and added green, purple, pink and clear sequins and stuck a piece of patterned paper behind it. I die cut the actual words from white card stock and adhered them to the acetate with liquid glue. I added a few more of the same sequins I used inside my shaker to the outside of the card and my card is finished!

Rainbows!!

Hello and welcome! Shari here bringing 2 rainbow cards for the SSS Kids Vacation Challenge!

For this card I used a Neat and Tangled stamp called Foliage Frame and a rainbow of ink to make this very colourful frame. Some parts didn’t stamp too well but it’s fine overall. I stamped my sentiment from the same set and gold embossed it. To tie in gold I considered splattering gold on the background but decided to use a small stamp from the set with three dots instead. I stamped it randomly five times around the panel (and nearly lost the stamp after) and gold embossed. I decided to leave it simple and added some Lawn Fawn glitter pen to some leaves, and that’s it!

For this card I used watercolours and painted a rainbow straight down my card panel. It’s completely crooked and honestly took me a long time to do this but it turned out well. I used a MFT stamp called Unicorn and Rainbows, and stamped and coloured the unicorn with coloured pencils. I used a Paper Smooches die to die cut clouds. I stamped the sentiment and then got to assembling. The cloud dies cut out a outline and inside so for some I only stuck the outline. For two clouds I popped up the inner piece and I added Nuvo drops on them too. I adhered the unicorn flat to the panel and I added Nuvo drops to his horn and spots too. I traced the sentiment with a stardust pen to finish it off, and my cards are done!

Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome back to the block. Shari here with a one-layer card for the SSS Kids Vacation Challenge.

About a week ago my mother and i watched a video about using “ugly” patterned paper or paper you don’t know how to use. One of the ideas was to die cut the more overwhelming paper using a small shape die and put them on a card. That was the inspiration for this card. I began by die cutting a piece of floral patterned paper with a hexagon die. The die actually cuts out a hole in the hexagon so I tried my best not to lose the little circle and surprisingly I didn’t so that’s nice. My sentiment is a die from Poppy Stamps and I die cut it from a piece of paper I scribbled with a black marker.

I began to arrange my hexagons on the paper, trying to figure out my placement. I eventually settled on a design and began adhering the hexagons to a white card panel. I stuck the tiny dots in the spaces as well then glued my sentiment. I added some sparkle with a Lawn Fawn glitter pen on some of the flowers and with a stardust pen i went over the sentiment and some extra places on the flowers. If I had to do this card over I’d go around the edges of the hexagons to help them stand out more but overall I love this card (it actually may be my favourite card I’ve ever made).

Hope you feel better soon~

Hello! Shari here again for another Kids Challenge card.

For my card I decided to make a full panel shaker. I’ve made one of these in the past so I decided to make another. I started by colouring a bunch of images from this Waffle Flower set called Little Fairies. I coloured them with coloured pencils and fussy cut them. I’m doing so much fussy cutting these days…. I added some white gel pen highlights and shimmer pen accents. I then started working on my background. I had some trial and error with it but I made a cloudy background using Mustard Seed and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks and an orange Papertrey ink colour.

I stuck four of my images flat to the panel and then started to make the shaker pouch. I used a page protector and cut it a bit larger than my panel. I stuck three of the sides down the filled it with clear flat sequins, blue and yellow glitter, and a few more images (the three small butterflies and the blue flower) so they shake around too. I sealed the last side and adhered the rest of my images to the front. I ink blended some more clouds with the orange ink stamped the sentiment from a Sweet and Sassy stamp set. I had the cut down most of the strip because it was too big. I stuck the strip down and added some gems and my card is done!

Love You

Hello and welcome! I’m back with another card for the Simon Says Stamp Kids Vacation Challenge.

On a piece of watercolour paper I stamped most of this image from a Studio Katia set. I did a light wash of blues, purples and pink watercolour. I then added detail with same colours. I used a die set from Lil’ Inker and used the ‘love’ shadow and outline die. I cut the shadow from vellum and the outline from a piece of watercolour paper I coloured pink. I stuck them together and added sparkle to it with a Lawn Fawn glitter pen. I also used it to add some shimmer to the flowers.

On the watercolour panel I tried to stamp a ‘you’ from a stamp set but failed miserably when my paper shifted. My original idea after that happened was just to stamp it on a strip of paper but that also failed :(. My mum then suggested fussy cutting around the image and sticking it on a normal panel. I did that and before sticking the flowers on the card stock panel I stamped the ‘you’ from an Altenew stamp. I stuck the flowers on the panel then adhered the love die cut. I contemplated adding gems but decided against it and my card is done.
